It Looks Good, But…

Some ads may not tell the whole story. In this scene, a television commercial for a children's toy helicopter is shown. In the commercial it appears that the helicopter flies on its own, but in reality it does not. This can sometimes be confusing and cause problems. Let's see what the store owner has to say about this ad.

David: Oh, man… why is that ad still on? It's so misleading, and that so-called helicopter disappoints every kid who picks it up. Kids see it and think the toy actually flies. As you have just seen, it does not.

Kid with broken helicopter

I constantly have parents coming in all up in arms trying to return broken helicopters, but I can't take back a broken toy… It's in the return policy on the receipts. Those customers are leaving the store unhappy and frustrated. I might as well kiss their business good-bye, and that's not good.

I reported the ad to the Federal Trade Commission. They'll find a way to get that commercial off the air—and maybe even get refunds for unhappy customers. I'm glad they're there to help. I gotta go clean up the mess.
