FTC sends second payment to people who lost money to a business opportunity scheme

The FTC is sending a second round of payments to people who paid for a business opportunity scheme called “8 Figure Dream Lifestyle.”

The FTC sued the companies and individuals responsible for 8 Figure Dream Lifestyle, and they agreed to settle. According to the lawsuit, 8 Figure Dream Lifestyle used a combination of illegal robocalls, live telephone calls, text messages, internet ads, emails, social media posts, and live events to market and sell bogus money-making opportunities. The defendants claimed that people using their programs could earn $10,000 or more in 60 to 90 days. The FTC says that the defendants' claims about income were false or unproven, and that most people lost their entire investment.

The FTC first sent payments in October 2021, which resulted in over $740,000 in refunds. Because there is still money in the fund, the FTC is sending a second round of checks and PayPal payments totaling more than $390,000 to 1,542 people who accepted their first payment and paid the defendants more than $2,000.

If you get a check, please cash it within 90 days.

If you get a PayPal payment, please accept it within 30 days.
