Federal Trade Commission Chairman Timothy J. Muris will unveil a new FTC ID theft consumer assistance initiative at a press conference Tuesday, February 5, 2002. Chairman Muris will be joined by a corporate representative and an ID theft victim. The press conference will take place in Room 432 of the FTC.

Reporters interested in attending the press conference will be permitted access to room 432 as of 10:30 a.m. Reporters unable to attend may access the press conference by a conference call at 1-800-597-7623, chairperson: Bruce Jennings, confirmation #11222708. The lines will open at 10:30 a.m.

B-Roll and a VNR will be available as well as FTC staff to respond to questions in Spanish.
