  • Statement of M. Sean Royall, Deputy Director, FTC Bureau of Competition and Trial Counsel in the Matter of Rambus Incorporated, January 29, 2003
    The Federal Circuit today, in a split decision, ruled on an appeal in a private suit involving Rambus and one other private party, Infineon Technologies AG. That suit involved claims of fraud against Rambus brought under Virginia state law.

    FTC Charges Telemarketing Network with Selling Bogus Advance-Fee Credit Card Packages

    The Federal Trade Commission has filed charges against seven corporations and nine individuals, the Assail Telemarketing Network, for engaging in deceptive and unfair activities in the marketing of advance-fee credit card packages under the names Advantage Capital, Capital First, and Premier One.

    FTC Chairman Briefs House Committee on Energy and Commerce about the Telemarketing Sales Rule's "Do Not Call" Amendments

    During testimony today before the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, Federal Trade Commission Chairman Timothy J. Muris provided an overview of the Telemarketing Sales Rule (the Rule or TSR) amendment process, discussion of the "Do Not Call" provisions, and an examination of the agency's request for Congressional approval to fund the operation of the "Do Not Call" registry and its related functions through offsetting fee collections.
