Federal Trade Commission Chairman Timothy J. Muris and Commissioner Mozelle W. Thompson, Chair of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development’s (OECD) Committee on Consumer Policy, will join OECD Deputy Secretary General Herwig Schlögl at a roundtable briefing in Washington, DC, on Tuesday, June 17 at 9:15 a.m. EST, to announce new cross-border fraud guidelines. At the briefing, which will be held simultaneously with events in Paris and Canberra, Australia, FTC and OECD representatives will provide details on this milestone international effort to protect consumers from cross-border fraud, as well as the steps the United States has taken to put the Guidelines into action. In addition to the U.S. and OECD participants, the events will feature speakers from the United Kingdom, France, Finland, and Australia, with other countries’ representatives available for interviews.
