Federal Trade Commission Received Documents Jan 29 1996 B18354900124 Secretary 8953 22nd Street DeMotte, IN 46310 January 19, 1996 Federal Trade Commission Pennsylvania Ave. 6th St. NW Washington DC 20580 Attn.: Robert Pitofsky, Chairman In a previous ruling the FTC declared that in order for a product to be labeled "Made in the USA" all or virtually all of that product must be domestically made. This is a fair and sensible ruling. As an American Consumer who looks for the "Made in the USA" label, I do not wish that this ruling be altered. When buying a product with this label I am assured that my purchase is supporting American tax paying workers and jobs here at home. Any change in this ruling would jeopardize this assurance. If a product manufacturer wants to meet the requirements of the label, they should move production of their product to the USA, not lobby to alter the existing ruling to fit their desires. Sincerely, Nick Kotur
