FTC: Made In The USA Comments Concerning Howard W. Henning--P894219 [078A] MAY 10, 1997 Federal Trade Commission I am writing this letter to express my displeasure with the decision by the Federal Trade Commission to change it's rules concerning the made in America label. I feel that it isreprehensible that the F.T.C. would punish the employers who have chosen to keep their jobs in the states, to benefit our work force and our economy. I don't believe that this decision should be allowed to stand and be put into law. It's forcing these company to take some of their work outside this country in order to compete. I believe it is a slap in the face to the American worker to allow the same label on a product that an employer who's work is done strictly by American workers. The made in America label should mean what it has always meant made in America by Americans, that is why the label means so much to the consumer, not substantially made in America partially by Americans. Thank you! Howard W. Henning |
