| Topic Areas for Parent Survey The Commission will contract with a survey research firm to conduct a telephone survey of 750 parents with a child aged 11 to 16. Survey questions will explore parental awareness of and involvement with their child's use or purchase of either movies, music recordings, or video or personal computer games. In addition, the survey will ask parents whether they restrict or limit their child's use or purchase of those products. The survey will further explore parents' familiarity with, use of, and evaluation of the industry's parental advisory labeling or rating systems. Topic Areas for Children Survey The Commission will contract with a survey research firm to conduct a telephone survey of 400 children aged 11 to 16. Most of these children will be the sons and daughters of the parents surveyed in the parent survey. Survey questions will explore children's use of either movies, music recordings, or video or personal computer games, including their viewing, playing, listening, and purchasing habits. In addition, the survey will ask whether the children's parents are involved with, restrict, or limit the children's use or purchase of those products. The survey will further explore children's familiarity with, use of, and evaluation of the industry's parental advisory labeling or rating systems. |
