I am opposed to the permanent application of the sliding scale mechanism for obtaining verifiable parental consent in regards to the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Rule. I believe that it does not address parental consent at an acceptable level of protection for the children, and will encourage the use of information obtained to be used in in an innapropriate manner by companies engaged in this practice.
