I have a teen and a pre-teen child and am very concerned about the amount of alcohol advertising they are exposed to in the environment. I applaud the FTC for holding hearing on the advertising practices of the alcohol industry. We need to reduce the exposure to pro-drinking messages that minors see as part of protecting them from addiction. I urge you to collect data on specific companies and their marketing practices to single out the worst offenders in marketing to underage consumers. Also, I ask you to segment your study on the 12 to 20 age group which is the group of concern here. Finally, marketing to Spanish speaking audiences should be an area of focus for your hearings, as we know this is a specific market that is being targeted by the industry. My family is bilingual and I know it impacts my kids directly. Thanks fo the opportunity to comment.
