Comments:The number of unaged persons consuming alcoholic beverages greatly concerns me. The FTC must employ all available means to curtail this tragic abuse. One way of curtailing this abuse is for the FTC to require audience composition during alcoholic beverage advertisements and to determine the basis of the total audience 12 to 20 years of age and total audiences 21 and above. This data would reveal companies intentionally targeting underage persons and encouraging them to consume their products. Such practices must be stopped. I urge you to make all efforts possible to address this national tragedy. Too many young people are dying because of the efforts of the Alcoholic beverage industry to profit at the expense of our children and youth.
