To Whom It May Concern: I feel that this ruling (16CFR Part 437) would put a heavy burden on my Shaklee business and on Shaklee Corporation. It would also put an end to the way I'm doing business with people in other states because if you give them the names of 10 people in their area, I know that some of them would decide to "switch ranks"and go with someone near them even though everyone can order directly with Shaklee and it's not that necessary to be in the same location. They wouldn't even know if this person near them would help them grow in the business. One of the things that I'm so proud of with Shaklee and can reassure people with is that Shaklee never gives out names. They have not done so in 50 years, and in this era of stolen identities, people are very worried about their names being given to everyone. What is the use of the privacy act if we are going to turn around and give names out? When I prospect people in other states, they are not going to be happy that names are given out, and the majority will not sign up (lately I've had to really talk to people and assure them that nobody will get their name. In the beginning, they don't know me or the Shaklee name).People are just too afraid right now of identity theft. And they HATE TO HAVE THEIR NAME GIVEN OUT TO ANYONE THEY DON"T KNOW! People need to be able to grow in trust with us and with Shaklee, so the reassurance is very important. In 30 years, I've never put my address in the phone book OR ANYWHERE because this is a home business and I don't want people that I don't know to have my address. We do have our children to protect and can't have people coming around that we don't know. I am the mother of 6 children (grown now) and I have been in Shaklee for 30 years, making enough to support my family. Now my husband and I are retired, and having no pension, we depend solely on our Shaklee income to pay the bills. Our Social Security Check is too small to support us. Please do not take away something from all of us who have supported ourselves and not depended on the government for handouts. Please do not take away our privacy and endanger our businesses by giving out those names to every prospective member and distributor. Please.... Gretchen White
