I'm writing in regard to the proposed Business Opportunity Rule. I own and operate from my home a direct sales company, Ashley Rose Essentials. This new law would create many new headaches for me as an owner as well as for my representatives. I do not charge any fees to sell the products I make nor do I have any monthly quotas that my distributors must meet. This allows many people to join my program with absolutely no cash output on their part because some simply have no cash to start a home business. It's a wonderful way for families to earn some extra money, but it also draws many distributors who have no intention of actually selling products. They then tire of the business and end their distributorship. By forcing owners such as myself to furnish statistics on how many distributors quit, it would tend to reflect VERY poorly on my business as it would appear to have a large turnover rate and some may not understand the type of people a totally free business draws. The turnover rate in my business is not due to my business practices nor is it due to my products. It is simply due to the fact that it can be joined at no cost so I draw many people who are simply surfing the web and come upon it and in the spur of the moment join. This would hurt my business and my family as it could discourage legitimate distributors from joining. It would also create more paperwork for myself as well as my distributors thus decreasing our productivity and our earnings. Please do not pass this law. It is unfair to the struggling small business people. We have a hard enough time competing with the "big boys" and definitely do NOT need anymore road blocks. Thank you, Sincerely, Cherry Smyth Owner, Ashley Rose Essentials
