Dear Sirs, It is my heartfelt desire that Business Opportunity Rule, R511993 be stopped from becoming law in the USA. It will cause needless hardship and bureaucratic bottlenecks in the direct marketing industry that far outweigh the benefits for its members. My personal opinion is that it is a patent excuse for further government involvement in U.S. citizens' financial and personal affairs under the guise of protection for the chronically disgruntled few. Having been involved with many direct marketing companies over the last 30 years, I can honestly state that any dissatisfaction I've experienced has NEVER been predicated upon issues of unsavory business practices. Home-based businesses using direct marketing contain built-in safeguards that make outside regulation redundant. Company management must nearly always be satisfied customers before they become business builders, and when customer member associates are no longer satisfied with product quality or sales force compensation, the company goes out of business. This is as it should be - when product no longer pleases, it will not be purchased. Direct marketing answers directly to the consumer so few safeguards need exist because buying groups self-regulate their product to meet the needs of qualifying member associates. Very little outside regulation is required when product satisfaction and compensation are adequate. In direct marketing, products that otherwise would be out of the price range of certain consumers, can become available through sharing and the direct compensation plan. This is of particular benefit to those on a strict budget that limits their health and well being. STOP, CEASE, DESIST all pursuit of Business Opportunity Rule, R511993 for the good of all citizens. Sincerely, Lynn M Cameron
