Enacting any of the proposed rules would devastate 99% of my business. Further more, I do not see how any of the proposed law would do anything to stop fraud -- It would simply destroy the lives of millions who rely on network marketing and affiliate programs for their source of income. Consider this example: I make much money selling "business opportunities" -- of course, selling the business opportunity is a large source of my income. The business opportunity isn't some "just do as I do" scam - it is a internet marketing crash course. i.e. I teach people how to be successful by learning marketing and advertising principles. As it turns out, the ability to market my opportunity to these individuals uses these very techniques and is the reason I am able to maintain my income. My methods do not require selling business opportunites or any other scam, and allows you as an individual to sell anything, including tangible products. Now, that being said -- if I get a couple of individuals who are unsuccessful and decide I am nothing more than a "scam" -- having to disclose this information to new prospective clients would be devestating. The fact is 99% of all people do NOT implement the strategies they learn from me, which is THEIR problem -- Not mine! The broad terminology of the proposed rules would would likely slash my sales more than 99% and would likely bankrupt me. I really beleive the FTC is going to destroy the lives of millions of "small time" marketers......... Please, leave us alone. Here is an idea: Why not find those who you claim are fraudulent and make an example of them - instead of imposing some broad *SCREW EVERYONE BECAUSE OF THE ACTIONS OF A FEW* rules
