I would like to addess the FTC proposed agenda pertaining to business opportunites. I am a business owner of a traditional company and have been in the direct selling arena for 24 years. I have been in MLM direct sales for 12 yrs. With the every changing world and good paying jobs continuing to leave this country it is vital to this country that we have partime income opportunites in this country. Many of my friends and neighbors use these programs of supplement their income to pay for college, house payments, and etc. The low investment for start up is what makes these programs so attractive. Without these programs the alternative to making extra income is very weak (work at McDonald's for 7.00 per hr) The MLM industry is a great way to get products directly to the end user and reduce the need for the product going thru several middle men before it is bought. I think the rules for MLM need to be expanded to encourage more companies to use this method of distribution so everyone can have a higher stand of living. I do recognize that they are evil start up companies that are out to deceive people. And I agree there needs to be some creditals made available to new distributors to know about the company. However the proposed rules I see all punishs the distributor not the creditablity of the company. This is the land of opportunity and we need to keep it that way.
