To whom it may concern: I wanted to let you know how this proposed rule would affect me and my business in a detrimental manner. The way that my company and I do business is very ethical and above board. Our main goal is to help the average family have affordable access to legal help when they need it and protection from Identity Theft and peace of mind, which your organization itself has said and I quote IDENTITY THEFT IS THE FASTEST GROWING CRIME IN AMERICA. The Direct Selling industry allows anyone to be able to start a business that they can work either part time or full time from home and earn the extra money that they need to help their family save for retirement, pay off debt, save for college without affecting their quality of life. The alternative for most families is that both parents have to work outside of the home and then have to worry about the rising cost of day care and the impact of having their kids in day care and letting someone else raise them. I think this excerpt from a letter from Thomas J Donohue, President and Chief Executive Officer of the United States Chamber of Commerce to Harland Stonecipher, Founder Chairman and CEO of Pre- Paid Legal Services Inc, puts it very well: (see full letter attached) It is clear that millions of Americans are seeking viable business opportunities in order to secure their financial future, be their own boss, and better balance the responsibilities of career and family. Pre-Paid Legal Services and companies like yours are propelling this powerful trend forward. In doing so, you are not only providing unique opportunities for Pre-Paid participants, you are also ensuring that the spirit of free enterprise in our country remains strong and vibrant. There is no job security with major coporations and in main stream businesses and people need to be able to have a way if they work hard to have a better quality of life for themselves and their families.
