The proposed Business Opportunity Rule is the most ridiculous proposal by the FTC to date and a classic example of "Big Brother" government sticking its nose where it doesn't belong. I run several direct marketing businesses and this proposal would put me out of business in all of them due to the administrative burden and lost income, because of this proposal. I am sick and tired of being penalized in this great country for trying to be successful. The middle class already carries more than our fair share of the burden in this country and now the FTC wants to break our backs with this new proposal. This country was founded on the opportunity for all to succeed through hard work and now the FTC wants to take away one of the inalienable rights that our Founding Fathers provided for all. ENOUGH! DO NOT PASS THE PROPOSED BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY RULE OR ANY REVISED VERSION. Quit wasting my tax dollars on this absurd proposal and STOP penalizing the hard working middle class for trying to be successful and create financial independence for their families. I'm sure that there are more important issues on which the FTC could spend its efforts. . .I just can't think of any, so let's do away with the FTC and save tax dollars. I suspect that big business is behind this proposal, because Direct Marketers are cutting into their bottom line, by providing better products at a better value. Let big business compete the old fashion way, through hard work and innovative products at a sensible price, i.e. old fashion free market competition. I don't mind losing except when the playing field is not level. The Business Opportunity Rule tips the playing field in favor of big business and places the smaller Direct Marketers at a severe disadvantage and will put most of us out of business. This is not the foundation upon which this great country was built. It was built on free enterprise, part of which is "Let the buyer beware". If someone feels unfairly treated by Direct Marketing, I say tough, you didn't do your homework prior to committing now suffer the consequences of your own free choice and take responsibility for your own actions. Don't try to pawn off the responsibility onto someone else by lobbying the FTC to pass this ridiculous ruling. The FTC must be composed of nothing but lawyers. Lawyers are ruining this country, because they have eliminated personal responsibilty from the equation. It's always someone else's fault, so let's see who we can penalize, as long as, it's not me. The Business Opportunity Ruling is yet another classic example of individual's and lawyers passing the blame onto someone else. Grow up America, Grow up FTC, and Grow up lawyers of America and take ownership for your own choices and actions and quit trying to blame them on me. DO NOT PASS THE BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY RULING OR ANY MODIFIED VERSION. Stay out of our lives BIG BROTHER government.
