I am writing in response to the proposed legislation that would require a 7 day waiting period with regard to bringing a new consultant into our business. This would be detrimental to my business as most new consultants start with a party which gets them their business materials free (no investment required by our company to start their business) the orders from this party need to be turned in within 3 business days so that the guests are not waiting for their merchandise. It's not fair to require the guests at these shows to have to wait 7 days while the hostess waits the required days to start her business before we can submit the show. If the hostess decides not to start these guests have now waited unnecessarily. If there was no waiting period the hostess would decide one way or the other and then we would proceed. As for requiring references...people can check any business online thru the Better Business Bureau website. Our business has stood the test of time and should not be subjected to these new rules. I urge you to not pass this new legislation as many of us rely on this business as our only source of income. I for one do not want to have to end up having my government support me because the business that I own and run has now gone under because of your actions.
