I am opposed to the new rules for the following reasons: PartyLite is a member of the Direct Selling Association. It has been for years, and has had to adhere to the rules of the association. As for the 7 day waiting period, you do not have to wait 7 days when being hired by any other company. They can hire you the same day regardless of their intentions. I feel that the option to start right away only benefits the new hires. If they are experiencing a cash flow problem, they can start with our company for free and start making money right away. The seven day waiting period could mean the difference between the new hire having money to pay bills and put food on the table. As far as giving references. We invite and encourage all new hires to attend meetings and information opportunities. Some of the responsibility should be put on the individual. They should take the time to do their research and attend any informational opportunities provided to them. I feel by giving out personal information about other consultants invades their privacy.
