Hello, I have been a Partylite consultant for 10 years. When I started my business, I was working in an office job that was boring and had no future for growth. After 15 months with Partylite, I was earning more doing Partylite part time than I made working full time in my office job. Since then Partylite has been my career. During the last 4 years my income has been consistantly over $55,000. My income has helped pay for one son's college education and other son's hockey programs. Both have married, since I began my business, and my income enabled my husband and I to pay for the groom's part of the weddings. It has been a stable income that has helped us survive the ups and downs of my husband's carpentry business. I am a happier person because of Partylite. I love the flexablity, great people I am able to work with as a leader, the great friends I have made during the past 10 years. I am NOT bored! I would like to express my concern about the seven-day waiting period for new consultants. I have sponsored over 100 people during my 10 years with Partylite. The literature we provide to prospective consultants provides enough detail that most people can make an educated decision with in a day or two. There is no risk involved or extra "hidden" charges - Partylite is VERY ethical. The propossed waiting period would cause much extra record keeping and keep many consultants from offering the opportunity with Partylite with people they meet. We offer an opportunity to start without a cash investment, all of the tools needed to begin a business along with contact with a leader who will provide training and support. Anyone who changes their mind is able to return any items they purchased at 90% of the consultant price. I always encourage new consultants to save their money and get as much as they can earn for FREE!! (Partylite has programs that offer products, to be used for our business, at no cost!) I am even more concerned about the proposed regulation that, as a sponsoring consultant, I would need to provide contact information for the 10 geographically closest consultants. As a leader I would not want my name and phone # given out to each person who MAY want to start Partylite. My time is valuable. I want to spend my time speaking to my customers, hostesses and consultants who are part of my team. It would be an invasion of my privacy to give my name and # out to everyone who lives near me who is interested. Our business has no territories and so it really doesn't matter who lives where!! I'm also concerned about need to be constantly contacting Partylite to determine who lives where and furthermore, who is an active consultant. It would be very irritating to be a consultant who has decided to stop their business and then to continue to have strangers calling and asking them about Partylite. Please work to change these regulations before they are put into effect. I know that there are unscrupulous companies and people need to be made aware of their practices but without penalizing the VERY ETHICAL companies like and including Partylite.
