To Whom It May Concern: I am a Party-lite Consultant in Michigan. I heard you are trying to put through a bill to watch unscrupulous companies who scam people. This is fine. I agree with that part of it. Party-lite is not like that. We care for the people. They take care of us and support us also. The seven day waiting period would hurt our business and here in Michigan we are hurting enough right now. We try and do different things for the people who need it for cancer and when disasters occur and other things. If a new consultant wants to join you want to propose that they wait seven days. That could hurt us and their business as well. They are excited and want to join and their friends are excited and want to have parties for them. If you wait that long they would loose enthusiaum and so would their friends. Sometimes they want to join maybe with only 5 days left in the month because we are offering them something when they join to help them with their business and it is for free. Who wouldn't want that. We try to work with the people and help them. Then if they wait they can't get it and they loose out and they also loose their enthusiaum and so do their friends. We try and help our people as much as we can. They can ask us anything about the business and we will tlll them. They can come to our unit meetings once a month or our regional meetings once a month to see if they like it. They can also come to a show we are doing and see what we do at a show. Our headquarters and their people are always willing to work and answer any ques from people. We have been in business for 33 years and are a reputable company. We are a respected company and this would hurt us. You are also proposing a ten reference to people who would like to join. People wouldn't like being pestered all the time to talk to people to see if we are ligit or not.I also think that it is on the virge of invasion of privacy when we have to give out phone numbers to complete strangers to call other strangers about the business. Would you like your phone number given out to every Tom, DIck, and Harry who calls to check out about the business. I don't think so. Please consider modifying this so is doesn't hurt legit businesses llike ours. Thank you for your time.
