To Whom It May Concern: My wife and I are involved in the direct selling industry. Due to my wifes health she is unable to work outside the home. I can not begin to tell you what having our own company has done for her! She is a different woman, more confident and a great outlook on life which she did not have once she became ill. We understand that there are fraudulent groups, but this bill unfairly targets the good legitimate direct sales organizations. The Seven day waiting period places a negative light on the direct sales industry and would create a huge record and admin problem causing a lot of unnecessary delays. The waiting period would make a lot of the legitimate direct selling companies impractical and hard on the day to day business. The elimination fo the $500 business threshold would force most of the companies involved with direct selling to comply with other provisions that are more appropriate for businesses requiring a larger investment than a direct sales kit. The part on litigation reporting would be an unfair practice in that it does not distinguish between winning and loosing lawsuits regardless of the outcome. Earning claims reporting would make it very difficult to collect required data and target bad actors who will not provide accurate information. In trying to find 10 people who currently are involved with a company, would not only be impractical but also in invasion of privacy! I always thought the govermnent was all about helping people keep their privacy. With too much data released, would there not be a chance of ID theft? Please don't pass this bill as written, but perhaps go back to the Direct Selling Organization and work close with them to solve the problem of the scam companies. Thank you Tom Shearer
