Dear Federal Trade Commission Members, I write to you today to ask that you reconsider some of the requirements you are proposing to regulate the direct sales industry. I am a brand new PartyLite Consultant, hoping to earn a living while still being with my children as much as possible. I did much research on direct sales companies and home based businesses before I joined PartyLite. The proposals you are suggesting would make my business much more difficult to build up and possibly impact my potential income. Specifically, in terms of the references requirement, I would not feel comfortable providing the personal contact information of other people in my organization, nor would I wish my own information to be given out freely. I am thrilled to share PartyLite's very real business opportunity with others, and wish to continue to easily introduce PartyLite to more people who may benefit as I am. However, I strongly feel that the regulations you are proposing would hinder me from doing so and would hinder others in starting their business in the timeframe they choose. I am thankful we have the FTC to protect consumers like myself, but in this case, you would be working against me, impacting my income, future and my family's future. I kindly ask the committee to reconsider the regulations you are proposing! Respectfully Yours, Karyn M. Edwards
