Although I appreciate and know that your organization is a great "watch-dog" for us as consumers - I must take the time out of my hectic schedule to write you about my opposition to your recent proposals in regards to the Direct Selling Industry. I have been a PartyLite consultant and leader for 13 years. I started this business to help me whittle down college loans - of which I still would be in debt except from the extra income that I earned from PartyLite. My PartyLite income afforded me to send my 2 children to a private Christian school; pay for our home's monthly mortgage; employ 1 full time assistant; contribute to my church as well as countless other examples. My experience with PartyLite is that - we have monthly OPEN events where people can come as a guest to "check out" the business; hear true consultant testimonies; as well as view truthful information that is also documented in writing. Many guests have commented that they appreciate our "non-pushy" approach to making THEIR decision. PartyLite even has a clause in their Consultant Agreement Form that states that "at any time by either party for any reason by giving 10 days notice, their agreement can be terminated and PartyLite will even buy back any currently marketable inventory in the original packaging and condition. Although, in my 13 years I have NEVER had any new consultant utilize this option. Of course, not EVERYONE decides to stay with PartyLite for 13 years - however, most people will agree that they were enriched from the experience of trying PartyLite; made some money; enjoyed some discounts and made many friends. I believe that YOUR decision will encumber people from making a decision that can positively affect their lives and benefit their families as well. Why not focus on those that DO practice "questionable" business practices rather than adversely affect us ALL. It's like punishing the WHOLE class when one classmate doesn't follow the rules. Sincerely, Susan Case - Sr. Regional Vice President, PartyLite
