I oppose the Business Opportunity Rule, R511993---rather than putting undue burden on legit. direct sales businesses--spend time and money going after the illegal direct sales businesses!! the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has proposed a new Rule, the "Business Opportunity Rule, R511993. This Rule will negatively affect the Direct Market Selling Industry, as it requires companies to alter their sales methods and places additional burdens on Direct Sellers in order to comply with federal law. Under this new Rule, several oppressive and burdensome requirements will be initiated for both companies and Distributors alike. In fact, under this Rule it will be easier to buy furniture, appliances, and automobiles, all costing thousands of dollars, than it will be to join a multilevel company. It will even be easier to buy a hand gun or assault rifle. We are asking for your help to stop this Rule from being put into law. Some of the consequences and adverse effects of the proposed requirements of this new "Business Opportunity Rule" include: * unnecessary alarm about the legitimacy of companies and their compensation plans * a gross violation of privacy of all Distributors * a time-consuming sign-up and disclosure process that may lead to enthusiastic prospects losing interest * increased expenses for both the company and Distributors
