For someone in Gov't to come along and devise rules and laws to protect others from entering a business of their own free will by disciplining those that abide by the rules is just plain foolish and non- cost appropriate. That is what this law is all about. The direct selling industry has its own checks and balances. They have a history with the direct assoc. Any lay person looking to enter the business world has a checks and balance system in place. You are stressing the small business person with your pathetic laws. Why do you want to complicate free enterprise in this country. After 21 years of experience in direct sales with a co. called Partylite, I see this attempt at law making as ludicrist.....if this bill were to pass it would impact my business in sales in quite a negative way. It is hard enough to gain trust with people in an honest sales forum....why in the world would you want to create more disbelief by instilling such restraints in what I do? I am appalled at this bill and request that all lawmakers take action now to obliterate this whole concept of law controls on small businesses. Is not the taxes that we pay tortorous enough! . You are making it almost impossible for small business earners to survive in our own country....a country I love! It is a fact that negative situations get more attention than positive situations. What is it that happened that brought this idea to the table.....who was playing their sorry song on a violin with broken strings? For years I and the people that I have introduced to my co., Partylite, have had nothing but positive expereineces. I insist that you are destroying honest possibilities by instituting this law. As a single Mom that has been raising 4 children on her own for the past 8 years....my business has been a godsend. Do not make direct sales a target of rules and regulations. It is indeed the last free enterprise in this country that can move mountains and build dreams for those willing to work hard and be honest in offering a customer service forum unknown anywhere else in the sales world. It is one of the last frontiers of independant business owning with affordability. Why would anyone in their right mind want to come in and control free enterprise? Laws that are instituted to control the dishonest are foolish for it is those very people that find a way around any rules put in their way. The honest understand that their integrity is of utmost importance and that their businesses will be tarnished if they do not uphold their businesses reputation. So you see, these laws that you are looking to institute are not protecting the innocent from being hurt from the bad...they will find another way around theses rules. In the meantime, those that alwyas have abided by the rules will be hampered. We need to stop making rules and laws based on a few lawless people. It complicates our systems in America. We do not need more laws in this country to protect the innocent. We need to educate people to not be so stupid! We also need to cut back on government spending...no more laws like this please.....we, as a country, cannot afford this type of law at this point in time.
