I understand the importance of the FTC, and in fact I welcome the FTC to hold companies accountable for their actions, and/or lack of actions. However, I would like to comment on the new business opportunity Rule R511993 that is going into place, and that I disagree with some of the things that you want to implement. First of all, I want to tell you that this industry has saved our family from a horrible financial cutback from Corporate America after 9/11. With 4 small boys at home, working out of the house was not an option for us. Direct Sales gave us an outlet that with hard work, over the past 4 years has given us a wonderful income, but that has not come without helping many others to achieve the same thing. By implementing the 7 days "wait" is only putting a bad light on the industry, and in my opinion after being raked over the coals with Corporate America, it is the only industry, (if you're with a good company) that pays you what you put in! Why put this industry in a bad light with having people wait 7 days to get started? People are excited to start something new and different NOW not a week from now. Also the privacy issues that come with collecting all of that information that would ultimately turn into an administrative nightmare would only make it more confusing and more complicated for most people to even think about embarking on a new venture. This industry has allowed me to stay at home with my kids, has allowed me not to put my babies into daycare, and has allowed us to get out of debt and provide for our family in a way that we never thought would be possible. Please don't make it worse and harder for people to get OUT of the rat-race of corporate america, and the 9-5 of never seeing our kids! Our children need parents HOME, not away. Even having the chance to make an extra $500 a month is alot of money to most people, and to ME! This industry gives people that chance. I ask you to please reconsider implementing these rules on the good companies that ARE trying to do everything right! Our CEO BK Boreyko is one of those honest, and caring individuals that is making a positive difference the RIGHT way with an amazing opportunity. Personally if I had to wait 7 days I would not of gotten started in this industry. I would of thought to myself "this must be bad or they would not have us wait 7 days to get started!!"...It really is a negative part of your rule and I hope that you will reconsider changing anything. Thank you for what you do, and I pray that we can keep all of the changes "positive" in nature, instead of negative. Sincerely, Cheryl Ables
