Direct selling was introduced to me while in the military in my 20's. I now 39 believe it has helped to shape me encourage me and make me the person I am now. Without It I may never have had the experiences I needed to go into business for myself I own Superior Water Services, Inc. It took hard work, courage and confidence through the experiences I gained in the direct selling industry. I believe the ftc is trying to make things better. But It's like saying take away the guns from law abiding people and there will be no gun crimes. Check out Australia and see how that's going. There is actually more gun crimes than ever before. I believe the same will happen here. If we put more restrictions on the good people then there will be even more fraudulent groups and less ligitimant companies left. Is this the USA or Russia Where the Authorities decide what's best for us? The restictions like 7-day waiting period and earnings claims and references are just road blocks that won't stop fraudulent groups but will stop ligitimant ones. I was introduced to direct selling and got involved because it was simple to do. If it was made more complicated I may have never gotten involved and where would I be now? working for someone elese making $10.00 hr. being very unhappy and not knowing how great it is being an enteprnuer. I believe you should punish the ones breaking exsisting laws now and making laws like public restorations and web sites to expose these people. I believe that the guilty should be punished after the crime but don't punish everyone before a crime is even commited. This law you are planning on imposing will hurt far more than it will save. We are in need of more opportunities in this country not more restrictions. Your real good at creating more laws, why not try enfrocing the ones you have. Laws like these create more scams not less. I have been scammed before and I believe that I am not a victim. It was a life lesson that I needed to make me a better person. I don't want the whole car industry to suffer because of 1 bad apple. Please reconsider this, I have to make extra money and don't need more restrictions on that. I also want my children to experience direct selling as a way of improving their finances and life experiences. If this goes into effect more good compaies will be forced to move out of the country just to stay in business. It will happen! Is this what you want? I know we don't need to give companies any more reasons for leaving.
