I appreciate as a consumer that the FTC is trying to protect me from the uscrupulous companies out for quick money, but as a single income person trying to cushion the income from my full time job so that I can continue to be a productive member of society who doesn't rely on others for help, I find these attempts and screening extremely worrisome. One of the most attractive points Partylite offers is the opportunity to put as much or as little effort into my business as possible. The proposed changes would increase the amount of effort for a part-time consultant, making it more difficult to be an Independent Consultant. In addition, I can almost guarantee that it would become a dying business because our business is built as much on enthusiasm and quick movement as it is on the quality of our product! If a new consultant had to wait to start his or her new business, he or she would lose their momentum and possibly some support for the beginning of their new business. It would be increasingly detrimental to a business that has stood for over 30 years as one of America's favorite home businesses. Please deliberate carefully before you attempt to further protect the American public. After all...buyer beware. We are adults, and cannot enter into a business without that stipulation.
