The focus of these changes in rules is no less than another step toward the typical Bureaucratic Concept that the average person NEEDS protection from the government because they are too "stupid" to sort out the truth for themselves! I find that insulting. The meaning of the word OPPORTUNITY is just what it says it is. There are no guarantees in that word. Any idiot would know this. There can not be any new companies starting up new businesses if the rules are so restrictive that a company has to prove things before they can make offers. This would stifle any growth and many new and wonderful products would never make it to the public. If a company makes any guarantees it should also have the reserves to back them up, just like a bank has to have. If they don't have the ability to repay such claims, then they should not be allowed to make them. What is needed is LESS Government regulations and MORE ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS against the obvious crooksters who corrupt the business world. I am a firm believer that products of poor quality will always disappear. The selves of some of our largest chain stores are full of products that have deceptive and misleading labels and advertising associated with them. Eventually they go away because the consumer learns the truth about them, eventually. The free market will self clean. More regulations and government rules are NOT NEEDED. Enforcement actions against deception and fraud under current law would make the world a better place. ~Nelson Machen~
