Dear FTC: Most of my clients come and want herbs I recommend for their specific concerns. As a price savings for them, I offer a membership with Natures's Sunshine Products. Most people are pleased with the reduction in price from retail, and intend to only use the products for themselves and family. Very few innitial customers spend more than $100; the most common first purchase is between $40-$50. Requiring a 7 day wait and massive amount of paperwork does a great disservice to both my clients and me. They are merely looking forward to saving $10 or $20, getting their products, and going home. I, on the other hand, do health consultations, sell to new customers, and have repeat customers. I do not need a ton of paperwork to do; or threat of fines if something is not perfect; just so a new client can save $10. This is my livelyhood and how I support myself and my family. I have been in this kind of business for over 20 years, and have had my own little business for almost 5 years. If someone decides that something is not working for them, they can return the item to me for a refund. There is no large purchase requirement for my clients at any time. It seems that your intent is to protect the public-- then make the regulations specific to innitial purchases over $500. That would be a more resonable cost concern. I don't appreciate more government burden. This ruling could seriously hamper the growth of my business!! Sincerely, Deborah Amstadt-Chavez
