While I am in favor of the effort to legitimatize business opportunities I feel that there are proposals that will hamper an Independant Business Owner (IBO) from building a business. While I have been a Quixtar IBO for less than a year, and haven't had the success I originally wanted, I feel that this is a great opportunity and a chance to produce the income I feel I deserve. I know there are several opportunities that are illegitimate and those are the businesses that are being targeted, however I do have a concern about the following proposals. 1. The requirement to provide a litigation list is problematic because it requires all lawsuits filed, even though it may have been a false accusiation. Only lawsuits that the company has been found to be liable for should be included. 2. The requirement to provide a list of 10 other IBO's could put a possible prospect in the hands of someone that is dishonest and is willing to register without the 7 day waiting period. There currently isn't an easy way of tracking the 7 day opportuntiy. By allowing a new IBO a specific time to get their money back, it shows that the company cares for the new person as much as the vetran. By allowing me 6 months to get my money back, I was able to get my Quixtar business started and verify that it is legitimate for my self, not by talking with someone who's name and number was on a list. 3. By having to disclose personal income to a new prospect, I would be putting at risk the opportunity to push them away based on my past success or lack there of. I am an honest person, however there are dishonest people and they may not share truthfully. By allowing a general statement of average income, it takes into account those that are successful and those that are not to allow the person to decide for themselves. I believe that the business opportunity should provide clear concise information to let the prospect truly be independent. By providing the person with the clear concise information, it will allow them to make the most educated decision available. I know that when I first saw the opportuntiy, it was not the right time for me to get into the business, however when I did see it a second time, I was looking. Being backed by the FTC was a major decision factor, and being able to get my initial investment back made the factor final. I feel IBO's should be an honest breed, however human nature does not make this true all the time. After being in the business past the 6 months it allowed me to plug into the system and realize that the people I am in business with are honest and God fearing individuals. Please take an honest hard look at the Quixtar IBO Board resopnse for the changes they feel are necessary as I whole hartedly agree with what they say.
