I am an Independent Business Owner with an incredible company. I am so thankful that this opportunity has come into my life. I am so grateful to live in a free country that allows me to choose how I do business. I am grateful for the FTC that is concerned about Fraud and about making sure people are making informed decisions. I agree with some of the proposed regulations. I do not, however, agree with all aspects of the proposal. I agree that we should create equal footing for all direct sellers by requiring clear, simple and standard income disclosures. I also agree that we should provide a reasonable cancellation policy. I do not agree with requiring a 7 day waiting period before a prospect could register. I do not agree that it be required to provide references of 10 other IBOs in our area. I do not agree that it be required to provide a disclosure of past litigation. I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT agree that financial records should be disclosed to prospects. I respect the reasons for making this proposal. There is far too much fraud, I'm sure. I hope and pray that you will remember that this country is the worldwide symbol of freedom and free enterprise. It was founded on a dream of freedom. I know that you are trying to protect people from being taken advantage of. That is noble, but please remember that the safety of the few SHOULD NEVER curtail the freedom of the many. It yanks the rug out from free enterprise, and free agengy... the ability to CHOOSE. People can and should be researching to make their own decisions. I trust that you will not injure the DREAM that has been lit in my heart! That same dream is in the heart of many, many thousands of people who are in this kind of business. Many hundreds of which I am directly associated with and have even developed life long friendships with. Please consider the impact your desicion will have on the morale of this country. Don't kill free enterprise... there's a better way. Thank you for hearing our voices. Please make the right decision. -Concerned and Passionate, Mrs. C Passey of Idaho Falls, ID
