(Background). I've been an Independent Business Owner affiliated with Quixtar Inc. for 5 years now. It's been a great ride. Other than income opportunity, I've found many other benefits like working with people I want to work with, unlimited access to financially successful people, an option to work from home, a business that I can put in as much or as less effort as I choose to ! I have a job as an Electrical Engineer with a large telecom company in the area and sometimes this takes a lot of time. This is the only business where I can adjust my business schedule accordingly. Our next goal is to replace my wife's income and have her home when we have kids. When I got started in the business, I was given enough information about the opportunity to make a quality decision. I provide the same information to people as well. We always tell prospects that the Quixtar business opportunity is a 2-5 year plan towards financial rewards, and that this is not a job or a pyramid or a get rich quick operation. Typically prospects spend anywhere from $110 to $190 to get started, depending on whether they take the optional product pack or not. If they decide to leave the business within 3 weeks, they can get all their money back from Quixtar. (7-day rule). This would slow down our business building activities quite a bit. Usually we follow up with people 2-3 days after they see the business plan and get business literature. Meeting early keeps the information fresh in their minds and we are able to work with their concerns. If we wait that long, people would have forgotten what they saw, and we have to go over all the information again. I would say this doubles our time required to be spent with prospects. Also, our personal business literature is with them for that long, and we could rather use it somewhere else. Waiting 7 days after each business plan review would slow things down tremendously, especially if you are building an organization! It's like interviewing somebody for a job opening, and then being able to tell them only after 7 days even if they are hired! (References). When I was hired out at my job, they never gave me 10 references of employees that I could talk to before I start working! Why is it different here? I don't want people giving out my name, address and telephone numer to people. I'm even on the do-not-call list of the ftc! What if my prospect registers with one of those 10 people instead of with me? Usually when we share the business opportunity with people, we invite them to a local business presentation where they get a chance to see the opportunity presented by somebody successful, and they also meet anywhere from 50-100 people who are locally building the business. So the prospect has plenty of opportunity to get feedback about the business and the team before they make a decision. (Litigation List). I've never been given a litigation list of all the lawsuits against my employer for patents and labor discrepancies etc. Same here! I've never looked for or sought out litigation against the company. If people want to, the information is available online or at Better Business Bureau. The important thing is how is the team of people that is working with you, and the immediate upline. If somebody did something bad elsewhere, I don't need to give that info to my prospect. It's like giving a list of all the lawsuits against doctors, when a student is applying for medical school ! (Earning disclosures). How much money I make is no prospect's business, just like my salary is nobody's business. At work, my boss did not tell me his salary when he told me about mine! Of course, we give people an example of what has happened to somebody successful. We always give out the SA-4400 form which details income opportunity and percentage of people making money and so on. Giving somebody percentages for each income level is like telling government employees how many people have a chance at becoming president of the USA!
