I am an independent business owner and reviewed the current proposition from the FTC. While I do see the intent behind the proposal and what the FTC is trying to accomplish, I don't think it is done correctly. There are several good ideas behind the proposal, but there are many things that need to be adjusted/ changed with the rulings. As an independent business owner, and propositioning people with a business opportunity, everyone has the same opportunity for information. Regardless of how it is presented to them, everyone has access to the same information to make an informed decision on a business opportunity. People have access to the Better Business Bureau website and also, of course, the FTC. In my opinion, what else needs to be said if your business is backed by both entities? There is a current registration process in my business, but before registering, as with anything else, there are disclaimers, legal statements, and conditions that every person must accept and consent to. Through all of that, how is there room for deception or falsifying information when presenting a business opportunity? It's a shame that ignorant people that are conned in to scams make this a problem for honest business men, such as myself. I researched my current business opportunity with credible, government sites and came to my conclusion that it is a legal, fair and equal opportunity. Why can't the rest of the general population do the same? If you ask me, the proposed issues from the FTC completely hinder the practice of Free Enterprise. This country was founded, and thrives off of the free enterprise system. I think it is a disgrace that the FTC would put a hinderence on some thing that has such importance to our nation's history, and also economy. In my mind, it completely discourages the comman American from practicing entrepreneurship. And we're suppose to be the leaders of the 'Free World'?? Thank you for your time in reading and contemplating my complaint. Hopefully it was submitted in a way that made sense and will be looked at in an umbiased manner. Thank you! .
