This is in regard to the Business Opportunity Rule R511993. I have been searching for a home based business for 18 years, so I do know about the scams out there, as I have been taken a few times. I do believe something should be done about the scams and although this Act may curb some of them, it would damage the legitimate Direct sales companys much worse. 3 years ago I found such a company, New Vision / Vemma (11 years old), that had great products and the business really worked for me. I now make a full time income from Vemma and I'm helping many others do the same and at the same time helping others with their health. After reading over the act, there are numerous points that would be devastating to our business. Primarily the 10 local reference people would be nearly impossible for some locations and then the prospect may decide they want to work with the local person, instead of you. Another problem is the the privacy issue. The 7 day waiting period would be an administrative nightmare and make us look shady. The earning claims will be difficult to verify and the scam people will continue to cheat on this point. In fact, the scams will cheat on all points an still prey on the un-aware. I truely believe that this law will only hurt the good companys and the scams will continue to operate, as they only need a short time to take the money and run. Please consider all of these pointws and don't take us down in an attempt to take out the scam artist. I do thank you for your efforts, but please spare my business and 100 of thousands of honest direct sales people in the US.
