I have been in network marketing for only a few weeks, but I just heard about this bill and wanted to share my opinions with you. This business is a great business to be in and networking should not be punished for recruiting people. I was recruit by a friend that had an interest in my well being. I got plenty of info about Xango and was well informed. I was able to make an educated decision to join because of the way they operate. No need to disclose lawsuits to me or have a 7 day wait. I might not have joined if I had to have all this info dumped on me. It would not be the business failing, but the goverements restrictions that would make me not join. Who wants to read through all this junk? I understand that the FTC is trying to protect people from bad business, but hurting the entire industry is not the correct way to do it. I think that the FTC should go to the direct sales organization and meet with them and let them help create the rules. It is not good for anyone when the governement makes rules that affect the quality of ones life when they have not done the appropriate amount of research. Earnings claims is not something that I want to share with people I recruit because it may give them a false sense of hope. Any good MLM company will not share this info until the person has joined and only if they really need to know. Do you really think that the scams are going to tell the truth about income, waiting period, etc. They will always find a way around this by lying and the legit companies will do it right and lose people to the scams. They we will never be able to recruit people because the scams lied and hurt them anyway. Please take the time to talk to the Direct Sales Organization and get their feedback before you pass this rule. Don't ruin what I have just gotten started. I am seeing light at the end of the tunnel finally and I am very happy. A proud MLM and Xango rep, Corbett Messa
