I am a single mother preparing to send my son to college with my income from Arbonne Intl. I believe that the Business Opportunity rule R511993 could prevent me from doing so. I have been diligently working this business for 8 months and have been very happy with the company. I have signed on many others with hopes of staying home with children, more money for retirement, etc. The 7 day waiting period will impede our progress, and imply that something is wrong with the company. I understand it is FTC's responsibility to protect consumers, but I have found that people who quit this business, just don't want to work hard. It is unfair to punish those who do when most people are not the entrepreneurs who do well at this. This is the American dream, to be able to work hard to advance oneself. With the litigation reporting, it is unfair that it does not distinguish between winning and losing lawsuits. As for references, it is impractical to find 10 nearest consultants. There are privacy issues due to ID theft and safety. I appreciate the FTC's goals, but the proposed rule would unfairly target legitimate direct selling businesses and hurt a lot of innocent, hard-working people. Thank you for your consideration.
