As a Quixtar IBO since 1988, I applaud your effort to regulate the "business opportunity" industry. There are certainly unethical companies who compete unfairly w/ legitimate ones like mine. I hope, however, that you'll do it in a way that won't be an additional disadvantage to businesses like mine since it is my sole source of income. My decision to register w/ Quixtar was easier because of their "money back" policy. A waiting period was not necessary. This satisfaction guarantee, in my opinion, eliminates the need to violate my privacy w/ financial disclosures and my friends' privacy w/ their personal informaton. Once that kind of info is out, we can no longer control how it is used. A national "money back for ___days" policy like Quixtar's will give new associates of any company time to see how legitimate that business oppotunity really is. The proposed waiting period and disclosures of finances and legal accusations would severly cripple my business, while the unscrupulous ones would just ignore it or find a way around the requirement. We already provide prospects w/ "average incomes for active IBO's" and they meet other local IBO's at our workshops and follow up meetings voluntarily. In conclusion, thank-you for attempting to restrict unethical business opportunities. Your effort will help legitimate ones like mine. My request is that you avoid the unintended consequence of causing the reverse result...hampering companies like mine w/ ineffective requirements which will be a benefit to the companies who are already ignoring rules and common ethical business practices. All the best, Tim Yokely
