Comments:
While this proposed rule undoubtedly has positive intentions, the intention to cut down on fraud and scams, I believe that the proposed changes would greatly hinder those honestly pursuing their goals through legitimate network marketing businesses. Restrictions such as requiring a seven day waiting period before a prospect joins a business, requiring references, lawsuit information, documentation of all income claims, and other unnecessary paperwork only stifle the process of allowing someone to start their own business. As someone who is in the process of achieving many financial goals through a network marketing business, I am strongly opposed to these proposed laws. This is the United States of America, the land of freedom, the land of opportunity, the land where people travel over sea and sand to come and start their own business. Please do not allow unfair legislation to hinder many who are simply pursuing the American dream. There has to be a way to continue to crack down on illegal pyramid schemes without it being at the expense of legitimate business owners like myself.
