I fully support the Business Opportunity Rule R511993. I have seen many friends lured into multilevel marketing schemes only to lose time and money. I have had to endure endless 'parties' pushing a multitude of products and hard-selling the benefits of joining the 'team'. The majority of these parties are geared more toward getting you to join rather than selling you the product. It is obvious that the ‘upper tier’ promoters are taking advantage of the ‘down line’ members of the ‘team’. They prey on persons in debt, looking to ‘work from home’ or just without experience in business. They encourage their downline members to get friends and family to join, thus jepordizing these relationships. The most infuriating are those for latest 'natural supplement' that does everything from help you lose weight to cure cancer. These groups have untenable testimonial evidence to support their claims. They prey on the sick, and those who want to help the sick, to make money. These are the snake oil salesmen of the past re-developed into the multilevel marketing vultures of the present. Please pass and enforce this bill.
