My wife & I have opperated a Quixtar business for nearly 7 yrs. We were with Amway for 8 yrs. before that, & were retail customers for 5 yrs before that. When we first became IBOs, we were glad to find out that we could receive a discount on products that we had been paying retail for. Although I did not think that we would build a big business, I a liked that we could now extend the same offer to people we knew were also buying these products at retail, help them save some money, & get a little extra cash for doing so. We were shown the sales & marketing plan, & given info about the average income of IBOs. I thought it was low, but figured that was because, just like us, a lot of people were interested in saving some money, & sharing with a few friends, to make a little extra cash to help the budget. We had heard that people who chose to work at it could make some big money, but did not see ourselves working that hard at it. We had tried several more conventional businesses, like owning a laundrymat. They were more work & head aches than we thought. They never replaced our job income, & would have required full time commitment to do so. One of the things, that I love about this opportunity is that it is designed to let you work at your pace, & keep a job as long you wish. There is always the possibility for you to work more, & make a lot of money if you are willing to. They told that it would take consistant effort to grow a big business. We always tell people they can make a couple of hundred dollars by working this, and $100,000 if they were willing to work as hard as the people who have already done so. We always give the info on average income, & let people know that these larger incomes only come after years of hard work. .They don't just happen, & not overnight. We paid about $125 to start. That included products at cost, that we had been paying retail for. It also introduced us to others that we fell in love with, & have thus been able to share with peopie. That has paid off well for us. Today registration & starter products cost about $225. Not bad considering inflation, and we offer a money back guarantee. They also told me about their training system. I wanted to take advantage of such a successful self development system, to help me understand how to build a business plan based on what had already been successful, not the school of hard knocks that other businesses had been for us. What I learned made me believe that I could & should do more than I originaly thouight. We learned from other's experience, rather than having to go through all of it ourself. We have built our business to the Silver Direct Level making several hundred to a couple thousand $ a month. Not bad part time money.- Waiting 7 days to register new IBOs, would require more trips, some very far, time & expense. It would slow progress & discourage especially new people. If 7 days later they are not happy, thay can get their money back. Please scrub this. Giving 10 references would invade on our privacy, take unpaid time answering info requests, & may cause me to loose to another IBO, someone that I have invested time in, & give to other IBOs, contacts that I developed. Just a bad idea. Giving 10 yrs of accussations, many goundless or false would unfairly burden legit IBOs, who were never parties to the claims to begin with. Dishonest Cos will simply ignore them. Please scrap this business killer. There literally are too many income levels to reasonably give a disclosure for each. We already give Average Gross Monthly income figures in our literature & in applications. We make no personal income claims. We show what you will make if you build your business to specific examples. And you will. Our private info should remain so. Stop the scams wisely. Legit business like ours are only helped by doing so. These proposals while well intentioned, will hurt the honest, & leave scams unaffected. L. Miller
