RE: Business Opportunity Rule, R511993 Attention: Consumer Response Center: I have reviewed the proposed FTC business Opportunity Rule, R511993. As an independent FreeLife International Marketing Executive who has developed my business as a result of the opportunity FreeLife International, its products, and marketing plan made available to me, I am strongly opposed to the proposal. If adopted the rule would destroy my small business that I have worked so hard to develop. Network marketing is perhaps the last true entrepreneurial enterprise that exists in America today that is not over regulated and restrictive to the point of discouragement. It can be said that those who do not succeed in Direct Sales did not go “bankrupt”, they simply quit. Those who succeed are the ones who genuinely care about other peoples success, and are leaders in the free enterprise system. Please do not handcuff me, with unnecessary regulations, rules and policies. Instead, encourage me to go forth and seek out other entrepreneurial folks like me that truly build American capitalist models. We earn income from home, we pay taxes. We seek to build other business in partnership with like-minded individuals. As I said before, no one gets hurt with Network Marketing. We either succeed, or we quit. Please put these elements in our hands, not yours Accordingly, please do not allow this incredibly restricted rules to be enacted. Sincerely yours, L. Gene Kerns Arvada, Colorado
