Comments:
I am in direct sales with Xango. I chose this business because I can work part-time and supplement my regular income. I appreciate the FTC consumer protection priorities, but I fear this rule will have the most impact on legitimate companies like mine. The illegitimate groups will always find a way around the rule, while we will abide by it. (Look at campaign finance reform!) As I said, I work this business part time. With all the reporting, seven day waiting period, record keeping, collection of data for earning claims and finding references, not to mention privacy issues and ID theft; my part time business turns into a full time business. If passed, I believe this rule will be impractical and will be unable to be enforced. As a result those of us who will play by the rules will be negatively impacted, while the "bad guys" will get away with murder as it were. A better solution is full disclosure by companies. The "good guys" will be glad to comply, while the "bad guys" will be flushed out as they will not be able to comply. And I will still have my part time job! I hope that the FTC will not take a shot gun approach trying to correct the abuses, but will use a surgical method to cut out the cancer. Sincerely, Robert Gunther
