I oppose the FTC proposal. I am an Independent Business Owner affiliated with Quixtar.com. I have been an IBO for over 20 years. I am retired and the Quixtar business provides additional income. When I present our business to new people, I am careful to screen them regarding unrealistic expectations. I tell them “you get out of this what you put in, it is not a get rich quick program. I will be as committed to you, as you are committed to your own goals.” A person can register as a Customer of Quixtar.com at NO COST. They can access the Quixtar.com Web site and purchase products. A person who wants to create income as an IBO registers for $69. This is refundable if the person changes their mind. Optional training materials are available. Each person receives information on the average earnings of IBO’s, and other information about the options of a Quixtar business: additional income, business to business options, business to consumer options, training materials available. Regarding the seven-day waiting period. Many people are ready to get started right away and would find the waiting period inconvenient. Others want to “think it over” and are given whatever time they need to make a decision. Some decide to join, others not. If everyone had to wait seven days before they could register, I would not be able to help those who are ready and eager to start right away. Regarding references. People value their privacy, and would not want to be references, even if the have positive opinions. Prospective IBO’s have a chance to meet people in person who are active IBO’s, and ask any questions they like. I encourage people to meet with team members even before they register as an IBO. Regarding litigation list. I understand that Walmart is the object of thousands of lawsuits, whether valid or not. Having to provide a list of litigation will create a negative impression, whether true or not. Regards, Ron Hori
