I am very saddened and disturbed by the new law you are trying to put into effect for Direct selling companies. Do you realize how much Direct selling companies support our economy? Do you realize how many families you would be hurting? I look at where my life and my family's life was 9 years ago before the fabulous Direct Selling company called "Mary Kay Cosmetics" came into our lives. We were beyond paycheck to paycheck. I was at a very low point in my life financially, spiritually, my self esteem and self confidence and so much more. Thanks to Mary Kay we have been able to get out of the debt we were in, add a 1,000.00 square feet onto our home. 11 years ago I was diagnosed with an eye disease that can lead to blindness, it could be weeks or years, but there is no cure to date. The Direct Selling Company with the Go Give philosophy, the 90% buy back guarantee to all it's consultants who would like to try working for themselves, has provided me to stay home with my 3 children while helping to support the family financially. We could not make it on one income. If this law is passed it will make it very difficult in the Direct Sales for me and many, many others. I couldn't go back to work because of my vision, I would then have to take long term disability. We would have to sell and move because we wouldn't be able to afford the house we live in. I have had 33 deaths in my life including my mom to domestic violence. Mary Kay cosmetics wasn't just a financial gain for me, it helped me find me again. Do you have children? Do you wish you could be home with them? Is someone else raising them while you're working? Would they benefit more if you could make a good living from home and raise them? Would they behave differently because they see you set goals, miss them and get back up again? Would it help build there self confidence? Or is it better just waving by by and cooking them dinner and tucking them in at night? Did you hear how there day went at school or was it someone else? Do you realize what this law would do and how it would impact thousands of familes, our economy etc.., ? Attached is a letter from me, please take time to read. Thank you so much for your time.
