Dear Sir or Madam, As an independent sales consultant, I am deeply concerned about your proposal Business Opportunity Rule R511993. I believe it could potentially effect my direct sales business in a negative way, so that I would not be able to operate my business successfully. I am already a victim of the government stepping in to my present job at United Airlines (19 years) and totally ruining my retirement. I am seeking income through my Tastefully Simple business so I can off set the pay cuts we have endured for the past 5 years, and also so that I can have a solid profitable business when I decide to retire in 12 years. I understand that your mission is to protect the public from unfair and deceptive acts or practices. However, some of the sections in the proposed rule will make it very difficult for me to sell Tastefully Simple products and help others start Tastefully Simple businesses of their own. Please answer me this. If there are companies out there practicing bad business acts, then why don't you go after them directly? Why do we need to punish everyone? Tastefully Simple has provided me with a solid income source since 1999. Please reconsider your new Business Opportunity Rule R511993 and help out the small business owners who trying to make ends meet and stay home with their families. Sincerely, Maryann Jamieson Tastefully Simple Independent Consultant
