My name is Daniel Chidester, and I am an IBO in the Quixtar business. I am writing to suggest some modifications to the proposal regarding business opportunities, specifically those affecting the direct selling industry. I have been an IBO for about 1 year and 8 months, and have seen that the business model works, and the income is exactly as described when I was introduced to the business. The Quixtar business is perfect for me because I can fit it around everything else that I have going on in my life. Quixtar is a wonderful company to work with, and they provide some of the best customer service that I have ever seen. The products they sell are of the highest quality, and are very competitively priced. When I registered as an IBO in the Quixtar business, I received all the information I needed to make an informed decision, and was never pressured to register. They told me that they would share the information about the business with me, and if I wanted to take part I could, if not it was no big deal. Our business team always provides all the information that we have available to a new prospect looking at the business. We do not have anything to hide, as this business is a legitimate opportunity, and is backed up by hundreds of credible companies that new prospects can investigate. The proposal to make a new prospect wait 7 days prior to registration is not fair. It shouldn't take a professional 7 days to evaluate this business for this small of an investment. The average start up cost is under $150, and since Quixtar offers a 100% money-back guarantee on everything for a 6 month timeframe, new people are very excited about the business, and understand that there is no risk to getting started in business with our business team. The proposal to call 10 contacts in the area before a new person gets started with the business is unfair in two ways. First, it disregards the privacy of the contacts being called, as I know I don't like being called by someone I do not know. Secondly, some IBOs that get started in the business do not treat it like a business, and expect to not do any work but still make money. Sine this is not a "get rich quick" scheme, some people will not put work into it, and will put the blame on someone else for their laziness. A new prospect should not have to get their information about the business from someone who expected something for nothing. I appreciate the fact that this business takes hard work to succeed, as does any legitimate business. I am very passionate about the Quixtar business, and highly respect the goals the FTC has of trying to eliminate illegal pyramid schemes, scams, and frauds, while allowing legitimate business opportunities such as Quixtar to continue to operate. However, some of the proposed changes to the law will actually harm people in legitimate business opportunities such as Quixtar that enhance free enterprise in this country. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Daniel Chidester
