Dear Federal Trade Commission, My wife and I have been in the Quixtar business (formerly Amway) for nearly 30 years. We are Diamond IBO’s and it is our sole source of income. We are 58 years old and are still extremely active with our next goal of Executive Diamond set for 2008. When Nancy and I registered we received more than sufficient information to make our decision to join. Nothing has changed. The Quixtar information offered is clear and simple to understand. We feel the best start up is to suggest the Quixtar Introduction Pack which includes products, publications, business insurance, etc. It costs approximately $125.00 plus tax and handling. If someone joins and then decides to leave the business, which seldom happens, there has never been a problem returning the product and information for a refund. Therefore we feel the 7 day waiting period is not necessary and immediately casts doubt that our business is a viable option. In addition offering a new potential IBO names and numbers of others to contact and ask questions is inappropriate in our opinion. I don’t’ want my name and number given out to others and wouldn’t want to give out their numbers as well. Who’s to say they wouldn’t want to sponsor the IBO I sent them? We have meetings every week where IBO’s can meet others and get their guest ions answered anyway. Finally, the thought of financial disclosures being released in unacceptable. That is private information that anyone in any industry has the right to keep private. We sincerely hope that the FTC does not go forth with any of it’s proposals. We feel this could seriously jeopardize our business especially as we approach retirement years in the next 8 to 10 years. Sincerely, Dane & Nancy Morton
